My heart and best wishes go out to everyone who is dealing with the aftermath of Sandy's destruction.
Here is a time-lapse video of NYC during the torrents of rain, including the black-out. And man, New York City must be so erie plunged into darkness.
HOOLLYY. The city was lit up and then BOOM. Darkness. And then it was interesting to see the car lights zoom across the city, most likely emergency vehichles, and the following morning's flashes of sun against the skyscrapers.

| Apparently, the taxi driver was pulled out safely by a doorman at 51st and FDR drive and this photo was taken just afterwards around 9pm. |
